Deja, a proud Chicago native with a deep-rooted passion for creating positive change in her community. Growing up in the vibrant city of Chicago, she was fortunate to be raised in the inner city where she was exposed to a unique culture; however, she understood that systemic disadvantages existed in the communities she was raised in. This experience instilled in her the values of rigor, equity, and justice, which have guided my journey ever since. She has always been an advocate at heart, fighting for the needs of others and using my voice to promote systemic change. Her professional journey began in higher education, where she discovered her true calling in educational policy. This led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy, equipping her with the skills to analyze and implement impactful policies. Throughout her career, she has led initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes for at-risk communities. Her work focuses on breaking down systemic barriers and ensuring that every student has access to quality education. She believes that by working together, we can create a more equitable and just society. Her love for God and the teachings of the Bible have inspired her to serve others and strive for justice and compassion. She is dedicated to using her expertise to empower individuals and communities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Her passions drives everything she does, and is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.
